Dear Members

An early Easter definitely focuses the mind in a Boatyard. It’s funny how boat owners want to be afloat for Easter, this year it could (did!) snow! But just like our boat owners we are ready with a new programme of events, with a new layout style, including a new burgee, which is thanks to our member Shaun Bridgman (I think it looks great!). We also have a really good selection of new and different events.

The winter months saw the clubhouse busier than ever, and with word of Tim and Steve’s food spreading I can see that we will be in for a memorable summer. Event’s such as the Après Ski night and the Valentines Party were very well received, so expect more of the same – and the Menu now includes a Sunday “Roast” for lunchtimes on Sunday. We have spent many hours wine-tasting in order to update our wine list – so look out for the new one – I hope you approve. We have also been busy with maintenance - getting ready for the spring. We have new hand dryers in both the ladies and gents, and I’m sure many of you will welcome back our Lake Yard “graffiti”. Watch out for outside heaters, new outside lighting and some new furniture.

On our history side we’ve found photographs of Sir Malcolm Campbell’s Bluebird K4 on our slipway here in 1947! Thanks to Nadia Farquharson who took the pictures with her Brownie Box Camera. We will be planning a history day later this year, and the photographs will be on display in the Club.

Please don’t forget to carry your membership card when visiting the Club, and when booking for the restaurant and for events – it really is a great help.

The recent high tides saw many of our neighbours flooded, but luckily for us we remained high and dry, and completely without incident.
